LUDINGTON, MI – An over-the-top milkshake is being served on the beachfront Up North and it begs the question, do mermaids live in Lake Michigan?

We’re not sure. But The Sandbox, at Stearns Park in Ludington, has procured Mermaid’s Milk, a photo-worthy milkshake.

This extravagant milkshake is an entire vibe.

“When we started this business, one of our goals was to create delicious food that is beach inspired in taste and theme,” The Sandbox said on social media. “We want to create a special and unique experience for all those visiting our beautiful beach. This milkshake does just that.”

Mermaid’s Milk is adorable and delicious, they said.

The flavor is a bit like a liquid birthday cake. At 16 ounces, it’s perfect to share with a fellow sweet tooth.

It rings up at $15. An “unloaded” version is $7.50.

Take this bad boy back to your setup on the sandy beach or enjoy it on The Sandbox’s patio, which features bright pink and blue picnic tables and chairs. Beach games, including cornhole, are also available.

The Sandbox has two locations, North and South, at Stearns Park, 420 N. Lakeshore Drive in Ludington. Mermaid’s Milk and other over-the-top choices are available at the South Beach location; hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The menu includes other loaded milkshakes, slider sandwiches, fries and ice cream.
